ARTISTS TAKE RISKS: For this project I had to use a trial and error method. I knew I wanted to have some kind of shading effect going around the drawing so that it would make it seem as if there was a shadow going around the whole picture. I used trial and error because I would shade something in to see if i liked the way that it looked. I wasn't sure how to give it the shadow effect that I wanted, so i just had to keep trying until I got it the way I liked. At first, it was too dark so i had to wipe off the lead from the pencil to make it lighter and to kind of drag it out too. Once I was finished shading, I wanted to add more to the picture to make it more "home like." So i decided to add Texas and the Houston Astros logo into the middle of the Houston Texans logo. I decided to not shade around Texas because i felt like it would make it be too much shading and ruin the effect. This drawing took a lot of trial and error because i had to just try things out to see how they'd come out. If i didn't like it, id just have to take off whatever i just tried to add.
ARTISTS COLLABORATE: Throughout the project, I wasn't quite sure how I to get the shading effect that I truly wanted my drawing to have, So I asked my friend Joseph to help me out and give me some good ideas. Joseph helped me practice my technique and come up with the shading effect that my drawing has on it. After I finally finished all the shading around the outside I asked him for his opinion on how the shading looked. We would collaborate and come up with ideas to make my project look as good and creative as possible while remaining in the guidelines to make a 100 so i can get into Harvard. Joseph helped me with my project and i am glad that i collaborated with him.
